I’m not going to lie… I really didn’t get much done in May. Or so it would seem. I’m still working really hard on the back end of things, so not a whole heck of a lot has happened on the front-end. Like I said in my last post, it’s not going to appear as though I’m doing a whole lot.
I got through the entire process of creating landing pages for people when they subscribe to any of my segmented projects on my Mail List. That included creating an initial set of merchandise for both Operation Joy and God Jots, as well as finishing off very short welcome videos for those who sign up. There are still a few minor things to be done – such as updating some special offers once The Dream Divide is finished.
I completely finished the SEO work on the Operation Joy set of blogs. As part of this, I created a free mini-eBook called 10 Things You Can Do Right Now To Inspire Joy In Yourself & Others, which I attached to every blog entry in that category that otherwise did not have a freebie (like a worksheet or PDF) attached to it. So that’s all set and I can move forward with new blogs without much trouble. I’ve started the same process on God Jots, which will move ahead faster now that I have finished the initial merch for that, and have finally decided what the mini-eBook for that category will be.
The good thing here is that since The Journal and The Studio Journal both feel a little more loose and on-the-fly, I will not be going through and attempting to do a whole lot of SEO on them. I will be cleaning them up a bit, but they will not require the work that the other blogs have.
The Dream Divide
Emily started her editing notes on this this month. Now that she has a little more freedom she should be done with this soon, and then I can get back to finishing this up and moving forward with the release. At this point it does look like it would end up being late June, or early July. Much later than planned.
The Art of Tactful Procrastination
Speaking of later than planned… I am now quite behind on this project. Especially when the idea was to have all the music for this album done by the end of June. Right now I’m still sitting on 6 songs, nearly all complete, but not much has changed since the last update. Much of this is just because I’ve been working on this website, getting other parts of my projects up to snuff and just gradually moving forward. May tends to be a really busy month anyway. And I’ve had to not only finish other projects that needed some wrapping up, but I’ve also had to put some time into other ones – like a pilot for a web series that Emily and I will be filming in July. I’ll be directing that one! So we’ll see how that goes.
I have lots of other little things on my list. For instance, I’ve done a little development work on the Elrik O’Dune book series I intend to start writing next year. I’ve also met with David from my former (present?) band Rutherford to work on new music, and I might have some other editing projects in the work that would otherwise slow down development of my own Ender Bowen projects. But if anything major develops from them, you’ll know!
